The 2017 Rheem Read-a-thon inspired by the Rheem Circus is here!  The goal of “The Greatest Read-a-thon on Earth” is 100% participation.  The emphasis is reading for fun!  The Read-a-thon is Rheem’s annual literacy program that also raises funds for our school.

Read-a-thon funds help pay for PTA enrichment programs and classroom aides. During the next four weeks from January 19 – February 15, our students will be recording their reading time on weekly tally sheets. These tally sheets will be signed by a parent and returned to the student’s teacher on Thursdays.  All types of reading will count: silent reading, reading to others, or being read to by family or friends.  Classroom reading will be tracked by the teacher and added to the total.

Money is raised through the participation of sponsors who pledge support to a reader.  Pledges can be made three ways: by the hour, by the hour with a cap, or a fixed donation.  Sponsor sheets should be returned by February 2 in the child’s folder or in the office. Monies pledged are due on March 31.To pay your pledge online please log into your account.

All students are encouraged to participate with or without pledges and will receive a special prize.
