2018 SCIENCE FAIR IS HERE!!!

It's that glorious time of year again where Rheem students get to think, create, question, explore, observe, investigate, analyze, share, and become young scientists! This year marks the Science Fair's 31st anniversary.  Over the past three decades, our young scientists at Rheem have experimented with teaching a goat to walk on a leash, separating pigment dyes in M&Ms, making edible slime, and many more fun projects.  This year the Science Fair will be held on Thursday, April 27.

Online applications are paperless again this year; Science Fair 2018 Application.  Applications open Friday,  February 2nd and close on Wednesday, February 14th.  Rules, draft submissions, and more information are also available online.

HELP OUR TEACHERS AND STAFF BY VOLUNTEERING TO DO CLERICAL HELP!

In an effort of help support our Rheem Teachers and Staff, Rheem PTA has brought back the Clerical Support Team.  Teachers and Staff feel this is such a huge help to them and the Teacher's Aids and allows them some extra time to focus on other areas in the classroom.

Please consider signing up to cover one week or multiple weeks on our SignUp Genius

You do NOT have to work everyday! You can pick one day out of the week to check the clerical box or you can check it frequently throughout the week.  Do what works best for YOU!

You can contact Becky Maher at bandcmaher@hotmail.com, if you have questions.

ATTENTION RHEEM FAMILIES!

We need your help to ensure that all of our students, staff and families can arrive and depart safely each day. Please slow down, obey all posted signs and follow traffic laws. We have over 450 students & staff members arriving and departing each day. We need to ensure safety for ALL! We need you to do your part to make this happen.

Safety first! Please take extra care and time when in school zones!

Thank you for helping keep our Rheem Community, which includes Rheem neighbors, safe!

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR MAKING THIS YEAR'S BOOKFAIR ANOTHER SUCCESS!!

After long hours and a lot of help, our Rheem Scholastic Book Fair has come to a close! Thank you to everyone who volunteered and helped make our beloved Book Fair possible!!!

At Rheem, the Book Fair is not a PTA event and it is coordinated and ran solely by our Librarian, Mrs. Gillbanks.  We are lucky to have such a thoughtful and caring Librarian at Rheem!  The Rheem Book Fair raised over $11,000.00 this year, which is up from last year...  25% of the proceeds go directly to our Rheem Library and along with PTA funds it helps Mrs. Gillbanks continue to purchase and provide new books for our students.

**POSTING PHOTOGRAPHS ONLINE**

As we all love to capture our student's special moments at school or on a fieldtrip, we often then share these moments with each other on social media. Please remember that not all families feel the same way.

As some families have specifically requested that photographs of their children not be included in the yearbook or used on social media.  Please make sure that you have the consent of other parents before posting photos of their children online.  We want to ensure we are respecting everyone's wishes and privacy, before posting on social media.

THANK YOU!
