Message from our PTA President

Hi Families:

Please join the PTA for a festive kick-off to the school year at the Hacienda de las Flores-Pavilion, an authentic Spanish style property overlooking a beautiful walled garden. The Hacienda is located right down the street from Rheem Elementary. There aren’t very many opportunities to get the adults together without the kids around, and this fun event is an annual Rheem tradition! As a PTA member (and as the current PTA President), I have always enjoyed meeting new parents, having the opportunity to catch up with old friends, and spending time with the Rheem Team in a more casual setting...with no carpool line to contend with!

Tickets are $20.00 per person and include two drink tickets, unlimited appetizers, and the opportunity to connect with grown ups.  There will be games and raffle prizes, too! There are even rumors of a possible pole dancing performance by our own Principal Sullivan…begging the question: what WON'T he do for our kids? Kidding, kidding, only kidding. BUT make sure to join us for the fun to find out for sure!

Visit MTK to purchase tickets: https://rheempta.membershiptoolkit.com. You can also purchase your annual PTA membership, sign up for hot lunch and register for ASEP on MTK. Check it out!

Sip! Sip! Hooray (for Rheem)!

Sincerely,

Rebecca Eirich, PTA President and your PTA Friendraiser Team

The Rheem PTA wants to help our students be prepared for any unforeseen events in life.  Please provide an “Emergency Bag” to keep at school for each child by Friday, 9/13.  Below are the guidelines:

  • Gallon Size Ziplock Bag (clearly labeled with child’s name, room/teacher)
  • 2 Non-Perishable Snacks (for example: 2 granola bars, small bag of jerky, dried fruit)
  • A small item to comfort your child (photograph, handwritten note, card, item no larger than your hand)
  • DO NOT include drinks (no juice or water)

These bags will be stored over the school year and every child in the class will be providing a bag, so storage space will be limited. Questions? Contact Kate Siamas at ksellier@gmail.com.

September 18th is MEF’s Annual Day of Giving!

On this Day of Giving, MEF is highlighting the need for private donations to supplement public funding at Rheem, LP, CP, JM and Campolindo, so that the schools have the resources they need to continue to Make Moraga Brighter!

MEF’s 2019-2020 Campaign goal is $2.75M.  On September 18th let’s show our support of Rheem school and raise 10% of that amount, giving the foundation the momentum it needs to meet its objective!

If you haven’t made your donation yet, please consider giving a donation or pledge on MEF’s Day of Giving by following the links or going to moragaeducation.org.  Rheem’s Fundraising Chair will be out with students at drop off to thank parents for their support of MEF.  We are all so lucky to live in a community that supports high-quality education for EVERY student EVERY DAY!

Join us for the Rheem School Fall Carnival and Cake Walk!

When: Friday October 11, 2019 4:30PM

Where: Rheem Playground

Why: Because it's Fall, and because it's fun, and because WE LOVE THIS SCHOOL!
